Beautiful Laura Hunt has been murdered and police detective, Mark McPherson, is becoming obsessed with her portrait and finds himself falling in love with the dead woman. In the course of his investigation, he meets Shelby Carpenter, the fiancé; Waldo Lydecker, the benefactor; and Danny Dorgan the boy downstairs who all loved Laura too. This mystery has many plot twists and turns and will keep you on the edge of your seat!

Performances are Fridays May 29, June 5 and 12; Saturdays May 30, June 6 and 13 (all at 7 p.m.) and Sundays May 31, June 7 and 14 (at 2 p.m.). Tickets are available at the Imperial Schooner Restaurant (Port of Ilwaco), JT’s Cafe (Ilwaco), Stormin Norman’s (Long Beach), and Okie’s Thriftway (Ocean Park).

The 2nd Story Playhouse is located at 108 Spruce Avenue in downtown Ilwaco, just above JT’s Cafe. The Playhouse is handicap accessible. More info: Director Laurie Carter 360-642-8667.

FISHING RULE CHANGE–WASHINGTON DEPARTMENT OF FISH AND WILDLIFE

Sport halibut season to re-open in Ilwaco August 1 and 2

Open recreational fishing for halibut in Marine Area 1 (Ilwaco). Prohibit fishing for, retention, and possession of all bottomfish except sablefish and Pacific cod, when halibut are onboard the vessel.

Effective date: Open 12:01 a.m. through 11:59 p.m., Friday, August 1 and Saturday, August 2, in Marine Areas 1 (Ilwaco).

Species affected: Pacific halibut.

Location: Open August 1, and 2 in Marine Area 1.

Reason for action: This rule conforms to federal action taken by Pacific Fisheries Management Council. There is sufficient recreational quota to provide for these fishing days.Information contact: Carol Henry, (360) 249-4628, ext. 254.

Fishers must have a current Washington fishing license, appropriate to the fishery. Check the WDFW “Fishing in Washington” rules pamphlet for details on fishing seasons and regulations. Fishing rules are subject to change. Check the WDFW Fishing hotline for the latest rule information at (360) 902-2500, press 2 for recreational rules.
